Sorry I haven’t posted anything for a couple of days but my life had become extremely busy. This is just a quick update on what has been happening.
I have know since I received my visa that it would expire and I would eventually have to fly back to Sydney. I have less than three months left at work and I partly refuse to acknowledge that I’m leaving behind my London family. I had planned to stay in the UK after my visa expires as a tourist. I have a few things planned for the extra month I’m here in Europe including a last minute trip to Ireland with one of my friends.
Monday morning I made the decision I needed to start organising myself for the trip back to Australia. I messaged my parents to look at flights for me as when I previously looked it was a lot cheaper to book it from Australia. I gave then a date that I was looking at flying out of London on but I let them know I would be flying back from Dublin the previous day so don’t book me on an early morning flight. I then contacted the shipping company I’m using to ship home my boxes. It’s amazing how much you can collect in 21 months, I have bought a shirt for every concert I have been to since I moved. Anyone that knows me well knows I love music and especially going to concerts. By Tuesday afternoon I had my flight home booked and my empty boxes being delivered by the end of the week.
IT IS OFFICIAL!!!!!!! I fly out of Dublin on the 19th of October to fly back to Sydney via Dubai. I’m so excited to be going home to see my family. I haven’t see my dad or oldest brother since I left, I saw my other brother and sister-in-law a year ago in Madrid and mum I saw back in 2013 for Christmas in London.
My boxes arrived yesterday and I have about two weeks to pack my whole room into boxes ready for shipping. They will take about 3-4 months until they are delivered to my house in Sydney. It will be a mission and a half to try and organise everything into boxes. I had planned to pack all my winter clothes into the boxes but currently London isn’t having the warmest of summers. I have spent the couple of weeks in jeans and long sleeve tops, this is making it harder for me to decide what to pack and what I should leave in my wardrobe.
You can probably see I’m a little busy with packing and working but I’ll try to keep you updated.
Talk soon, Sarah x
